Day 10 - Songs you listen to
Okay, I'm breaking the rules with this one because, for the most part, Big picks the music we listen to.
Let me explain.
Big works from home, and he works ALL THE TIME. There are days that he's just finished working at our typical "bedtime." There are days that we get up just hours after he's stopped working because he had to work into the wee hours of the morning. Sure, there are days that he gets off on time, and sometimes they exceed the number of days that he works late, but usually they're about even.
Big is also extremely particular about the music he listens to. He's mostly a metal head. Progressive rock is his favorite. Music that tells a story, or is political in nature, or is experimental. He hates most pop music, has no interest in most hip hop, and absolutely loathes all the techno autotuned garbage that has become so popular lately. He likes Eminem a lot, and he loves Jay Z's Empire State of Mind, but that's about it when it comes to rap.
I, on the other hand, am a music junky. I eat it all up like it's the last music meal I'll ever have. Okay, not all. I'm also pretty sick of the techno autotuned garbage. It all sounds the same. Blech. But beyond that, I'll listen to anything with a good beat, enjoy anything with a decent melody, and fall head over heels in love with anything with beautiful lyrics. With regard to music with lyrics, I prefer metal (particularly politically motivated metal), but country has a special place in my heart. And I love jazz and classical music so, so much.
But since I'll listen to anything, and he's so particular, I usually let him pick what we listen to. (Except, obviously, when he's not home, or I'm working out, but this theme isn't about workout music.)
So instead of what I listen to when I feel these ways, I'm gonna give you songs that I would listen to when I feel these ways if Big wasn't so particular about his music.Happy -
